Use case · Confidential video

Share a video with a password, and see who opened it.

Pricing, proposals and board updates should not be one forwarded link away from the wrong inbox. Cliprame locks a video with a PIN, a password or a one-time email code, can limit it to one company, and shows you who unlocked and watched it.

No card. Your prospect doesn’t need an account.

The problem

A link goes wherever it is forwarded.

A normal video link works for anyone who has it. Send a pricing walkthrough and it can reach a competitor, a procurement team you did not know about, or the wrong person on the buyer’s side.

A lock puts a step in front of the video, and the data tells you who got through it, so you decide who sees what.

How it works

Three steps with Cliprame

  1. Step 1

    Record or upload the video

Record in your browser or upload a file you already have.

  2. Step 2

    Choose the lock

A PIN, a password, or an email code sent to the address the viewer enters, optionally limited to one company’s domain.

  3. Step 3

Send the link, share the PIN separately

Send the link in one message and the PIN or password in another. With an email code there is nothing to share.

What you get

The lock options, and what you see

  • A PIN or a password

You choose it and share it separately from the link. Wrong guesses are rate-limited.

  • A one-time email code

The viewer enters their address and gets a six-digit code. The code is stored only as a hash and expires after 10 minutes.

  • Limited to one company

Allow only addresses at one domain, such as northwind.com, so a forwarded link does not open for outsiders.

  • Not loaded until unlocked

The video is not in the page, or sent to the browser, until the viewer gets through the lock.

  • Who unlocked it

With an email code, the confirmed address is shown to you next to that person’s views.

  • What they watched

The same analytics as any video: how much, what they replayed and what they did next.

Good practice

Getting the most out of it

  1. Use an email code for named people. It confirms who they are and leaves nothing to share.
  2. Limit it to their company. A domain limit means a forwarded link does not open for outsiders.
  3. Share a PIN or password separately. Never in the same message as the link.
  4. Check who unlocked it. If someone new did, find out who else is involved.
  5. Switch the link off when the deal is done. You can turn off a link at any time.

What to know first

  • A lock controls who can open the video. It cannot stop someone recording their screen once it is playing.
  • Video locks are on paid plans, not the free plan.
  • An email code needs the viewer to have access to that inbox.

Start free: the full viewer analytics and campaigns of up to 25 people are on every plan. Paid plans start at $29/month and raise campaigns to 500 people, with locks, longer videos and all your integrations. See the pricing page.

Questions

How do I share a video with a password?

Choose the video, turn on a password lock, and send the link. Share the password in a separate message. Viewers enter it before the video loads.

What is an email code?

The viewer types their email address and gets a one-time six-digit code, valid for 10 minutes. You can limit it to addresses at one company, and you see who confirmed.

Can I limit a video to one company?

Yes. Allow only email addresses at a domain such as northwind.com, so a forwarded link does not open for people outside that company.

Is the video hidden until it is unlocked?

Yes. The video is not loaded into the page until the viewer gets through the lock.

Are locks on the free plan?

No. PIN, password and email-code locks are on paid plans. The free plan includes tracked links and the full analytics.
